Easy to Process

With TempRite® CPVC, no performance aids are required to enhance the compound’s heat deflection characteristics. TempRite CPVC’s superior heat-deflection performance is built directly into the polymer, which is then compounded for extrusion.

As a result, TempRite CPVC materials offer manufacturers unmatched ease of processing, combined with excellent mechanical properties.

TempRite CPVC materials offer processing characteristics that are unrivaled in its class. With excellent melt-flow characteristics, TempRite CPVC processing materials are ideal for complex mold and die designs, and part processing on conventional vinyl equipment.

General Extrusion

The TempRite CPVC compound family is the most complete line of compounds for extrusion. Included in this family are compounds that offer Underwriters Laboratories flammability and thermal index ratings and compliance with NSF listings.

Electrical

TempRite EE CPVC is a profile extrusion compound with a UL-recognized relative thermal index (RTI) rating of 105°C with impact. TempRite EE CPVC materials also have a UL 94 5Va performance rating for applications requiring low flame spread, criteria commonly required for electrical and electronics applications.

Easy to process, TempRite EE CPVC materials feature low die swells for near net-shape tools and expedited balancing, allowing PVC processors to use most of their existing tooling and downstream equipment. Melt temperatures similar to PVC and excellent metal release promote longer run life, reducing manufacturing costs.

TempRite EE CPVC compounds also reduce processing costs by exercising tight dimensional tolerances during the processing of complicated shapes and multiple polymer layer extrusion, which promote part consolidation. Offering a broad processing window, TempRite EE CPVC materials also produce consistent looking parts in both high- and low-shear conditions. A polished finish provides an end-use part with a high-quality appearance.

Low Combustibility

Available in extrusion compounds, TempRite LC CPVC materials were developed to provide durability, dimensional stability and chemical resistance for regulated environments. Sheet manufactured from TempRite LC CPVC materials offers deep-draw capability, texture retention and a variety of decorative options to expand design possibilities. In addition, co-extrusion capability provides a cost-effective system based on a single material technology for superior processing.

TempRite low-combustibility CPVC materials exceed FAA regulations for OSU heat release and NBS smoke performance in aircraft interior applications established at 65/65; 200. They also conform to UMTA (Urban Mass Transit Administration) guidelines for materials used in mass-transit vehicle interiors.
